Prism is grounded in the principles of grassroots organizing, emphasizing the power of relationships and the need to align people and money to achieve systemic change. Through collective action, storytelling, and advocacy, we challenge harmful narratives and policies while advancing a vision of belonging and dignity for all.

Through organizing, Prism is working toward a Minnesota where LGBTQ+ people are empowered to lead lives of authenticity, freedom, and opportunity.

Rev. Oby Ballinger founded Prism in January 2025, following decades of volunteer and staff roles in community organizing for racial, economic, climate, and LGBTQ justice. Rev. Ballinger lives with his husband in St. Paul, Minnesota, and previously served several Twin Cities congregations as a pastor in the United Church of Christ since 2009.
